If you’ve forgotten about the fires rampaging through California back in January of this year, well, they absolutely were happening. Fortunately, that was several months ago, and many displaced people have been able to move forward with their lives. That’s the main reason why Final Fantasy XIV has announced that the game’s automated housing demolition is being reactivated starting on June 6th, which means that private and free company estates that are left alone for 45 days at a stretch are at risk of automatic demolition.

If you have been inside your house during the past several months, of course, there’s nothing to worry about; similarly, so long as you log in and enter your house between now and June 6th, the timer will be reset. Otherwise, once June 6th rolls around, the timer will resume counting down from where it had been when the demolition was paused, so make sure to stop in the game and enter your house. The announcement also asks for players still affected by the fires to please contact the Support Center, so anyone who is in a tight spot needn’t despair if they can’t.
