This week appears to be mostly about fixing existing content breaks in both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, as the major additions for each MMORPG now go under the microscope for tuning, adjustment, and repair.
We start with RuneScape and its fix-filled patch for the week, which makes some hotfixes to the Augmented Runecrafting and Thieving skills, applies some fixes and adjustments for the duck quest, and crushes even more bugs and applies tuning to a wide assortment of general gameplay matters. The MMORPG is otherwise continuing its double XP event until Monday, May 26th.
Meanwhile in OSRS, the Yama boss fight has seen several bug fixes over the weekend as well as a reduction in the value of contracts. Jagex has otherwise clarified a few mechanics related to the fight and has nerfed the drop rates for the Oathplate armor owing to the fact that players were clearing the fight much faster than anticipated and to protect the game’s economy.

This is mainly due to two reasons – the first being the longevity of Yama and the second is we need to be mindful of the health of Torva armour’s position in the economy. Ultimately we want to make sure both pieces of content remain enjoyable and profitable in the long-term. This change should bring the ‘time to complete’ somewhere in the realm of 75 hours, which remains a far cry from Nex’s, but should still serve as a significant grind for many players while keeping those dopamine hits fairly regular.”
