WoW Classic’s Season of Discovery may be winding down in terms of development, but the experimental server may be a launch pad to something far greater.

In a retrospective post on the forums, the WoW Classic devs said, “Season of Discovery was a success beyond our wildest imagination […] We think about how it helped prove something that a lot of us already knew: There is an enormous appetite for new experiences set against the backdrop of original World of Warcraft.”

In other words, get ready for Classic Plus: “We want to set ourselves up for success by taking take the time we need to get in the proverbial kitchen and ‘cook,’ iterate on, and shape our ideas and lessons learned from Season of Discovery into something truly exciting.”

Meanwhile in regular WoW Classic, Mists of Pandaria is heading our way in a little over a month. Blizzard said that the pre-patch will arrive the week of July 1st, with the eastern-flavored expansion arriving on July 21st. This will add the Pandaren race, the Monk class, AOE looting, and a level cap bump to 85.

For Season of Discovery players who beat Dreadlord Balnazzar in the Scarlet Enclave raid by June 30th, they’ll be granted one level 85 character boost for Pandaria Classic.
