As promised, Lynked: Banner of the Spark is officially launched and live in the wild as of today as it departs early access for good. The Dreamhaven-published, FuzzyBot-developed multiplayer roguelite (actually, the devs use “rogue-life” for all its lifeskills) opens its doors with its 1.0 update, including five chapters, 40 new missions, and a new biome called VoidSpyre. Here’s the pitch:
“Lynked is a colorful action RPG in which players team up with each other and with their robot allies to face down the Combot threat. After testing their mettle against waves of menacing enemies in solo or co-op missions, players return home to build a bright new world alongside their band of rescued robots, crafting a thriving town with the resources they’ve collected – and increasing their power for the next adventure.”
Thus far, MOP’s Colin and MOP’s Sam have both played the game and returned to us with detailed impressions: Sam was taken with its surprisingly high-quality combat and basebuilding back in early access, while earlier this week Colin took a dip into the launch version, saying that in spite of not being an MMORPG, it “scratches that exploration, crafting, and character progression itch that so few games outside the MMORPG genre do.” Together, they tested out the multiplayer too (and it was smooth like butter).
Lynked is available on PS5, Xbox X|S, and Steam for just about 25 buckaroos.
