If you’re among those who have been lucky enough to be invited into Soulframe’s preludes testing (aka pre-alphas), then this is a great week for you because the newest build is officially live, bringing with it a whole bunch of new additions to further flesh out the upcoming MMO.

Headlining the new update is the Festival of the Circade, an event dungeon that’s opened with key drops from Banneret and Ode’n knight enemies across Midrath. Once inside, players will be tasked with finding three fragments of a totem and thus creating a special item to earn an apparently powerful reward, though players are warned that holding this totem will see them hunted by foes.

The update notes also hint at a secret chamber in the crypt “sealed behind a riddle only many minds may solve”; readers will likely recall this is the communal puzzle that developer Digital Extremes referenced during the game’s last dev stream.

In addition to the event, the new patch introduces a sidearm weapon slot with some new weapons to match, two new starter main weapons in the form of a new sword and a magical staff, some new enemies including a boss known as the Mendicant King, and the addition of defensive stats to armor. There’s also the ability to leave notes at world trees, several new armor pieces, a loadout switching feature, and a lengthy list of bug fixes.
