EverQuest II expands character customization options as it preps the Dozekar PvP server for June 10

Daybreak is drowning EverQuest II players in a deluge of announcements and releases this week, so let’s put in our googles and dive in. First, the studio patched up the basegame today with a handful of itemization and bug fixes – and some customization perks too, at least for dwarves, humans, and elves.

“Feel like hot stuff? Chill out with the new Coldain Stratum customization option for original Dwarf character models!” the team says. “Available for all non-SOGA model dwarves for free through the character customization options such as character create or via a Shave and a Cut token. No longer the province of the Anemic, the Freeblood hairstyles are now available for all Human and Elven characters on non-SOGA models on an account with the purchase of the Unlock: Freeblood Customization for Human and Elf token.”

Second, Daybreak posted release timing for its upcoming Origins PvP progression server, Dozekar – that’s the one first announced in April and went into testing earlier this month. We already knew it would open up in June with unlocks staggered every four months through Kingdom of Sky. Now we know it’ll open on June 10th, with a staggered level cap too that goes up roughly another 8-12 levels every two weeks, ending at level 50 on August 5th. (People are very grumpy about those level locks, incidentally; the most vocal players prefer a different level stagger, beginning with 14 and not 12, because of the way gear and skills work in EQII. It doesn’t sound as if they’ll be accommodated.)

If you aren’t into Dozekar, then you’ve still got something to do on June 10th, as it’s the same day that the Anashti Sul Origins server will get the 2006 Kingdom of Sky expansion, which Daybreak put into testing earlier this week.
