For the past little while now we’ve been tracking the development of Jump Ship, the self-described “co-op PvE space adventure” from developer Keepsake Games that lets up to four players come together to crew a ship and take up PvE missions that frequently combine seamless FPS and ship combat. The title first arrived to our notice in 2023 when it was being called Hyperspace, while the game has moved its previous 2024 early access release to sometime in the summer of this year instead.
It looks as if the multiplayer title is ready to hand over a little sample in a few weeks’ time, as Keepsake has announced that a playable demo will be on offer starting Wednesday, June 9th, as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest showcase. The demo will provide the tutorial section, basic player and ship customization including a couple of unlockable ship modules, and a few missions within the first map region.
The announcement also saw the studio hold fast to a summer release window for early access, joke that the demo would ideally soothe requests for beta keys, and state its intention to monitor feedback and reaction to the demo in order to determine where development priorities should go next. For those eager for a little ship-based co-op action, the ship is about to jump.
