It’s the mid-season in Overwatch 2, and that means it’s patch time for the shooter, as Blizzard is bringing some new updates and fresh character tweaks as is tradition by this point.

The popular Stadium mode gets a little addition in the form of Freja as the latest roster addition, along with a suite of promised adjustments that single out a specific Reinhardt build and Soldier 76 ability for a nerfin’ and tweaks to several item costs in order to discourage stacking ability and weapon power. Color us astonished that PvP players would zero in on maximizing damage in a PvP game. We’re truly aghast, even.

Other portions of the update include the arrival of the Street Fighter 6 collab and its related event and skins, a mythical weapon skin for Mercy, and the return of Overwatch Classic mode featuring a patch from October 2020. There’s also a variety of balance tweaks to heroes in general that players will probably want to make note of.

Finally, Blizzard provides a brief look ahead at what will be coming in the next month or so, including confirmation of the return of Pride Month, a storybook-themed skin bundle for the cash shop, and the promise of more frequent additions to Stadium’s playable roster.
