The first portion of the fiscal year was a very good one indeed for NetEase, as the Chinese megacorp confirmed in its Q1 earnings report that revenue was up across the board, particularly in its games sector, which rose by $3.3B, a 12% increase from the same time period last year.

Among the big contributors to the company’s funny line growth is the wuxia open world multiplayer title Where Winds Meet, which launched last December in China (and is slated to arrive to our shores sometime in 2025), as well as a surge of players checking out the Season 2 update of Marvel Rivals and the release of Once Human on mobile.

“We entered 2025 with solid momentum, fueled by our ongoing innovation and new titles that strengthen our reach across genres and resonate with players around the world,” CEO William Ding notes in the report. “We remain focused on deepening engagement and creating lasting value by finding ways to connect, entertain and serve our users both domestically and worldwide.”
