It might be in early access, but that’s not stopping the PvPvE extraction RPG Legacy: Steel & Sorcery from kicking off its first official season, which has brought on some more features for players to try out.
Two of the marquee additions come in map form: Dawnhammer Crypt, a former resting place for paladins that now teems with undead; and Greenwood Night, a nighttime version of the pre-existing Greenwood map that now features bandits and ghosts. And darkness, obviously.
Adding some long lost sorcery to Steel & Sorcery is the other major addition of the Wizard class, which can cast spells from afar, rewind time for enemies and allies, and use scrolls found around maps to learn new abilities.
On top of these new content additions there is now a social hub for players to hang out, train, and duel; the introduction of weekly quests that can award rare gear; the ability to purchase dropped treasure “for a modest price” at the Goblin Pawn Shop; and some new creatures. The new season also means that there’s a full wipe of characters, items, and vendor progression, so everyone’s starting from zero this time around. The patch notes detail these updates and other general changes.
Just as a refresher, Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is the extraction RPG from Notorious Studios, which is made up of several ex-WoW devs. The game launched into early access this past February and MOP’s own Sam found quite a bit to like even in its early state.
