This week is a little bit of anime and a little bit of eight-player boss fighting in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. That’s because the most recent content patch has continued its month-long series of updates, specifically adding another limited-time quest and anime collab event.

In terms of playable content, the return of the Malignant Dark Falz Dalion fight is the feature here, which pits eight players against the mouthful of a boss name in what Sega calls an easier version of the same fight in a major target suppression mission. Fans are therefore encouraged to give it a shot if the last time this thing rose up ended up stomping them.

As for the anime collab, items referencing the anime and manga series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (aka TenSura) are available, both in the form of login rewards and lockbox cosmetics that lets players dress up as various characters from the show. Assuming your gambling luck is any good, anyway.

As a refresher, the MMORPG’s next content patch arrives a week later on May 27th, bringing a limited-time Snowy Confrontation in Kvaris mission and more lockboxes featuring augment items.
