The Division 2 launches its Battle for Brooklyn DLC and Crossroads content update

It’s been quite some time since The Division 2 tied down a launch date for its new DLC. Readers will remember that it’s been months since the Battle for Brooklyn was confirmed to be delayed off of the news that devs for the shooter suffered a round of layoffs. Well, now the time has come for that DLC – and a new content update – to come online as promised.

The DLC brings players back to post-pandemic New York during the fall, where they’ll have to face the resurgent Purple Flame and get their hands on new shiny like an exotic mask and several unlockable skills such as the return of smart cover. This obviously costs money, but there are some hefty discounts on offer (you can buy the base game for three bucks right now) and getting one of the shinier editions also grants an instant level 40 boost to get to the endgame stuff ASAP.

In terms of playable content offered in the Crossroads update, that looks to be significant as well, with several new modifiers enabled for the season, some new gear to earn, new weekly manhunt scouts that can be taken down in any order, changes to scavenging points, and some updates to the seasonal journey that seek to make things more flexible and rewarding. The patch notes are available to soak up all of the details.
