Dugtrio is a Ground-type monster originally introduced in the first generation of Pokemon games. Evolving from Diglett at Level 26 or higher, this creature is not known to have any official evolution. However, both Diglett and Dugtrio gained regional variants in Alola, with Ground/Steel-type forms. In the games, Dugtrio can learn powerful Ground-type moves at high levels such as Dig, Earth Power, Earthquake, and Fissure.

Pokemon Fan Art Gives Scizor a Demonic Makeover
A creative Pokemon fan gives the famous Gen 2 Bug/Steel hybrid Scizor a demon-like makeover inspired by another popular Japanese franchise.
Now, a Pokemon fan called _Conehead_ shared their latest work with the community: a Mega evolution for Dugtrio. This new form stands out when compared to the original Dugtrio because it looks like one enormous Dugtrio-shaped mountain instead of a single entity. By paying attention to the artwork, it’s possible to see very small Digletts all over the creature’s body, indicating that this new evolution is not only made out of rock but is possibly very tall. The fan work was praised by the community, and it achieved over 1,000 upvotes in a few hours.
Mega Dugtrio Pokemon Fan Art
This is not the only time a fan has devised an alternative variant for the popular Gen 1 Pokemon, and some of these fan-made designs are incredibly creative sometimes. Last week, for example, another fan created a pig-inspired version of Diglett and Dugtrio. In this quirky new design, the monsters were called Piglett and Hogtrio and looked like cute pigs with the Normal and Normal/Fighting-type, respectively.
Another noteworthy Pokemon fan art that reimagined Dugtrio was shared with the community a few months ago, reimagining it as an ice cream. In this unique design, a fan reimagined the popular critter as three smiling Magnum ice cream bars together.
Last year, inspired by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one talented fan devised both past and future Paradox forms for Diglett and Dugtrio. While Diglett became the Ground/Flying-type Iron Vessel, a future Paradox form that lived inside a large robotic body, Dugtrio was transformed into Mighty Roots, a powerful Ground/Grass-type monster full of tentacles that lived in pre-historic jungles. Hopefully, other fans will keep coming up with amazing fan art reimagining the most popular creatures in the Pokemon franchise and share their fresh takes on these monsters with the community.
